8 day adventure tour

Cotopaxi – Quilotoa – Chugchilan – Chimborazo – Baños – Jungle – Papallacta

Day 1: leaving Quito at 0800 direction south by the Pan-American Highway in a 4 X 4 with an bilingual guide/driver after 80 kms we will reach the national park Cotopaxi, we go up to 4500 mts ( about 13000 feet )from where they will start the first bike adventure going down the highest active volcano in the world I will provide bikes with front suspension and all the safety gear, like helmet, knee and elbow pads and gloves, a homemade lunch along the way, in beautiful surroundings. The ride is about 40 kms (25 miles) but not hard, no worries about altitude sickness, we don't stay long enough to get affected. Also we visit a small museum in the park. In the afternoon we drive out to the volcano Quilotoa were we will spend the almost on the rim of the active volcano with a native family run hostal

Day 2: After breakfast you can have a hike into the spectacular crater and its Magical lake, its possible to come back up un the back of a mule if you prefer. After a snack we go on the bikes thru a special Indian landscape and ride to Chugchilan were we spend the night at Mama Hilda, if ther are more people There is local dancing at night.

Day 3: Today some real nice biking to the direction of Sichos and if you like further to Toacazo.
In the afternoon we drive out to Riobamba were we spend the night in an Old renovated house in the center so we have a look around.

Bike adventure Day 4: Early rise, leaving for the mountain Chimborazo at 0700, on our way up we visit a little mountain village where we see the way the Indians live in the altitude, we continue to the altitude of 4800 mts by car (15000 feet) from where we have an hike to the refuge at 5000 mts (16000 feet)optional, back at 4800 mts a great ride down to Ambato about 70 km ( 50 miles) from there we continue to the town of Banos for the night. Lunch along the way.

Day 5: The town of Banos has a lot to offer, we can go rafting or horse riding, other is having a rest day and wash you're clothes, doing some walking around also there are some hot springs an terraces to enjoy a beer or a glass of wine.

Day 6: A great ride on the bikes into the Amazon basin to the town of Puyo, about 75 km (52 miles) and from there we go to the town Misahualli for the night, this is a little town in the jungle, with a nice atmosphere and monkeys all over.

Day 7: A little Jungle tour with a native guide and canoe, we visit a native family. Here we are at an altitude of 700 mts, here not known as an area with risk for malaria, but advisable is to use a lot of repellent Then on the bikes to Tena on our way we can visit a butterfly paradise. Papallacta

Day 8: From Baeza we go by car to the best hot springs in South America, Papallacta to wash of all the dust and relax, then a lunch with the best trout in the area. if after all this there is still energy left there is a great and fast downhill ride on a asphalted road and we continue on an old railroad and then back to Quito.

Transport all days till when you arrive back in Quito.
English speaking guide.
Overnights: 1 quilotoa, 1 Chugchilan, 1 Riobamba, 2 Baños, 1 Misahualli, 1 Baeza all with breakfast.
Rooms for two people with private bathroom.
